The details of the second soundtrack album for the Nickelodeon animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender have been revealed. The album features the updated and re-recorded score from the second season of the show (Book 2: Earth) composed by Jeremy Zuckerman (The Legend of Korra, Lucky, Scream: The TV Series, Horse Girl) who has expanded his original compositions and employed a full orchestra for the new release. The soundtrack will be released digitally and on vinyl next Friday, July 25 by Republic Records Kids & Family. The album features the film’s original music composed by Sick Luke and Lorenzo Senni & Francesco Fantini (The Challenge). Craft Recordings has announced first-ever picture disc edition of the soundtrack for the 1965 movie musical The Sound of Music directed by Robert Wise and starring Julie Andrews, Christopher Plummer, Peggy Wood, Charmian Carr, Richard Haydn and Eleanor Parker. The collectible 12-inch disc featuring the classic Rodgers & Hammerstein songs is being released to coincide with the film’s 60th anniversary and pairs the iconic 1965 cover art on side A with a whimsical “Lonely Goatherd” image on side B. The soundtrack will be released on September 9 and is now available for preorder on Amazon.
