Volker Bertelmann (aka Hauschka) (Lion, Hotel Mumbai, Adrift, Stowaway, The Old Guard, Ammonite, Your Honor, Patrick Melrose) has been hired to score the upcoming BBC series Life After Life. The show is written by Bash Doran (Traitors, Outlaw Kings) based on Kate Atkinson’s novel of the same title and stars Thomasin McKenzie, Sian Clifford ,James McArdle, Jessica Brown Findlay, Jessica Hynes, Patsy Ferran, Harry Michell, Joshua Hill,Laurie Kynaston, Maria Laird and Sean Delaney . The 4-part drama centers on the alternate lives of Ursula Todd, who dies one night in 1910, only to be born and survive on the same night, and finds herself time and again, living and dying in different circumstances only to be reborn into a new, alternative iteration of life once more. John Crowley (Brooklyn, Boy A) is directing all episodes and is also producing the project with Doran, as well as Tessa Ross (Trigonometry) and Juliette Howell (London Spy) for House Productions, Lucy Richer (Top of the Lake, Small Axe) and Ayela Butt for the BBC and Kate Atkinson. Life After Life will premiere in the UK this year on BBC Two.
