Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones, Westworld, Eternals, Iron Man, A Wrinkle in Time, Clash of the Titans, Prison Break) has composed the original score for the upcoming Netflix original film Metal Lords. The movie is directed by Peter Sollett (Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, Freeheld) and stars Jaeden Martell, Isis Hainsworth, Adrian Greensmith, Sufe Bradshaw, Noah Urrea, Analesa Fisher, Michelle Fang, Phelan Davis, Brett Gelman and Joe Manganiello. The teen comedy revolves around two teenage misfits who want to start a heavy metal band in a high school where exactly two kids care about heavy metal. D.B. Weiss (Game of Thrones) wrote the screenplay and is also producing the BLB and Kissgame Films production with Greg Shapiro (The Hurt Locker, Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle). As previously announced, Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello who has previously collaborated with Djawadi on Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim serves as the project’s executive music producer. Metal Lords will premiere on April 8, 2022 on Netflix.
Djawadi’s other recent projects include Ruben Fleischer’s Uncharted, which is currently playing in theaters. The composer also has the Jason Statham- & Woody Harrelson-starring feature The Man from Toronto (to be released in theaters on August 12, 2022), as well as HBO’s House of the Dragon, as well as new seasons of HBO’s Westworld and Amazon’s Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan coming up.
