The only movie opening nationwide this week is Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame directed by Anthony & Joe Russo and stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson and Josh Brolin. The film’s original music is composed by Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump, Captain America: The First Avenger, The Croods). Opening in limited release is the biographical drama The White Crow directed by Ralph Fiennes and starring Fiennes himself, Oleg Ivenko, Adèle Exarchopoulos, Sergei Polunin, Chulpan Khamatova and Louis Hofmann. Ilan Eshkeri (Stardust, Layer Cake, Still Alice, Kick-Ass, Johnny English Reborn) has composed the film’s original score and also arranged ballet compositions by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Alexander Krein & Ludwig Minkus. Also opening in limited release is the indie drama J.T. Leroy co-written and directed by Justin Kelly and starring Kristen Stewart, Laura Dern, Jim Sturgess, Courtney Love and Diane Kruger. The film’s original music is composed by Tim Kvasnosky who previously scored Kelly’s I Am Michael, King Cobra and Welcome the Stranger. No word on a soundtrack release. The movie, which follows young woman who spends six years pretending to be the celebrated author and cult status character JT LeRoy, the made-up literary persona of her sister-in-law, is being released in theaters and on VOD by Universal Pictures Content Group. Also opening in select theaters and on VOD is the horror thriller I Trapped the Devil written and directed by Josh Lobo and starring AJ Bowen, Jocelin Donahue, Scott Poythress, Susan Burke, Chris Sullivan, Rowan Russell and Josh Marrott.
