Also premiering tonight is the HBO original series The Deuce created by David Simon & George Pelecanos and starring James Franco, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Gary Carr, Margarita Levieva, Lawrence Gilliard Jr., Dominique Fishback, Emily Meade, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Chris Bauer, Chris Coy, Natalie Paul and Michael Rispoli. The show doesn’t feature an original score. Blake Leyh serves as the project’s music supervisor. The Deuce tells the story of the legalization and subsequent rise of the porn industry in New York’s Times Square from the early 70s through the mid 80s. The drama will air Sunday nights on HBO. Premiering on Wednesday, September 13, is the Epix documentary Foreman directed by Chris Perkel, executive produced by Gary Cohen about legendary boxer and pitchman George Foreman. Paul S. Henning (Clive Davis: The Soundtrack of Our Lives) has composed the film’s original music. The documentary tells the story of the boxer who completed the greatest comeback in the history of heavyweight boxing at age 45 in 1994 when he reclaimed the heavyweight championship crown that was lost 20 years earlier to Muhammad Ali.
Premiering on Thursday, September 14 in the U.S. is the Sky Atlantic mini-series Riviera created by Neil Jordan and starring Julia Stiles, Lena Olin, Iwan Rheon, Adrian Lester, Anthony LaPaglia, Phil Davis, Dimitri Leonidas, Roxane Duran, Amr Waked and Igal Naor. The show’s original music is composed by Ilan Eshkeri (Stardust, Still Alice, The Young Victoria, Layer Cake). Premiering on Friday, September 15, is the Netflix original series American Vandal created by Tony Yacenda & Dan Perrault and starring Tyler Alvarez, Griffin Gluck, Jimmy Tatro, Camille Hyde, Camille Ramsey, Calum Worthy and Saxon Sharbino. Darien Shulman (Funeral Kings) is composing the show’s original music. The comedy explores the aftermath of a costly high school prank that left twenty-seven faculty cars vandalized with phallic images. The full first season will be available to stream on Netflix.
