RCA Records will release a new soundtrack album for the Netflix original series The Get Down. The album features selections from the show’s original score composed by Elliott Wheeler (Restraint). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, September 8. The download link will be added to this article over night. The label has previously released two soundtracks for Part I and Part II of the drama featuring the songs from the series. The Get Down is created by Baz Luhrmann and stars Justice Smith, Shameik Moore, Herizen Guardiola, Skylan Brooks, Tremaine Brown Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Jimmy Smits. The show is set in 1977 New York City and follows the talented and soulful youth of the South Bronx as they chase dreams and breakneck beats to transform music history. The full series is now available to stream on Netflix.
