Rolfe Kent is reteaming with director Alexander Payne on the upcoming social satire Downsizing. The film starring Matt Damon, Christoph Waltz, Kristen Wiig, Hong Chau, Alec Baldwin, Neil Patrick Harris, Jason Sudeikis and Rolf Lassgård follows a man who joins the throngs of people undergoing a new process that reduces people to a tiny fraction of their size before moving to one of the many communities of small people that are sprouting up around the world. Payne also co-wrote the screenplay with Jim Taylor and is also producing the project with Mark Johnson (Breaking Bad, The Chronicles of Narnia, Rain Man). Kent has previously collaborated with Payne (The Descendants, Nebraska) on the director’s first four features, including Citizen Ruth, Election, About Schmidt and Sideways, for which he received a Golden Globe nomination. Downsizing is set to be released on December 22, 2017 by Paramount Pictures.
Kent’s upcoming projects also include Greg Kinnear’s The Philosophy of Phil, the comedy Crash Pad starring Domhnall Gleeson, Christina Applegate & Nina Dobrev, as well as the French family movie Le petit Spirou.
