Premiering on Wednesday, December 7, is the NBC television event Hairspray LIVE! based on the Broadway musical and starring Maddie Baillio, Dove Cameron, Kristin Chenoweth, Harvey Fierstein, Ariana Grande, Garrett Clayton, Derek Hough, Jennifer Hudson, Martin Short, Ephraim Sykes and Shahadi Wright Joseph. Sony Masterworks has released a soundtrack album featuring the special’s song written by Marc Shaiman (A Few Good Men, The Bucket List) and Scott Wittman (Smash, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) and performed by the cast. Also premiering on Wednesday is the new Hulu original series Shut Eye created by Les Bohem and starring Jeffrey Donovan, KaDee Strickland, Isabella Rosselini, David Zayas, Susan Misner and Emmanuelle Chriqui. The show’s original music is composed by Ben Decter (CSI: Cyber, Lethal Weapon, Lucifer, Hostages).
