Christopher Tyng (Futurama , Rescue Me) is scoring the new legal drama Suits. The show created by Aaron Korsh and starring Gabriel Macht, Patrick J. Adams, Meghan Markle, Rick Hoffman and Gina Torres centers on a top Manhattan corporate lawyer who recruits a brilliant but unmotivated college dropout as a new associate. Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity) who has worked with Tyng on multiple TV shows, including The OC, Knight Rider and Covert Affairs is executive producing the show. Kevin Bray directed the pilot. Suits (formerly known as A Legal Mind) is set to premiere on June 23, 2011 on USA and the first season of 12 episodes will be airing every Thursday night. Also making its series debut in June is the drama Necessary Roughness. The show starring Callie Thorne, Marc Blucas, Mehcad Brooks and Scott Cohen focuses on a tough and sexy Long Island divorcee who gets a job as the therapist for a professional football team in order to make ends meet. Her career begins to take off when athletes, musicians, politicians and other celebrities start to request her tough love therapy. The show’s score is composed by Adam Gorgoni, whose best known film credit is the 2005 comedy Waiting… starring Ryan Reynolds. Entering its second season is Covert Affairs. While season one composer Christopher Tyng is scoring USA’s Suits, Toby Chu has taken over scoring duties on the show. Chu has previously scored the FX show The Riches starring Minnie Driver and has worked with composer Harry Gregson-Williams on numerous projects. Covert Affairs stars Piper Perabo, Christopher Gorham and Kari Matchett. Perabo, who received a Golden Globe nomination for her performance plays a young CIA trainee, who is mysteriously sent out into the field to work at the Domestic Protection Division. Also returning next month on the cable channel is the hit action drama Burn Notice, which will have its fifth season premiere on June 23. John Dickson is writing the music for the show starring Jeffrey Donovan, Gabrielle Anwar, Bruce Campbell and Sharon Gless. Entering its third season is the drama White Collar starring Matt Bomer, Tim DeKay and Willie Garson, which is set to premiere on June 7. Jon Ehrlich scored the previous seasons and is expected to return. Finally, premiering on June 29 is the comedy drama Royal Pains. The show starring Mark Feuerstein, Paulo Costanzo, Jill Flint and Reshma Shetty has previously been scored by James S. Levine and the composer is expected to be back to write the music for its third season.
