Premiering tonight is the PBS documentary series The American Revolution directed by Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein & David Schmidt about the country’s founding struggle and its eight-year War for Independence. In a Circle Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the music from the show, including period and newly composed pieces for the project featuring performances by Jake Blount, Rhiannon Giddens, Brooklyn Rider, Hanneke Cassel, Nora Brown & Steph Coleman, Jennifer Kreisberg and Yo-Yo Ma, last week. Premiering on Wednesday, November 19, is the Netflix original film Champagne Problems written and directed by Mark Steven Johnson and starring Minka Kelly, Tom Wozniczka, Thibault de Montalembert, Sean Amsing, Flula Borg, Xavier Samuel and Astrid Whettnall. Ryan Shore (PrimeStar Wars: Forces of Destiny, Love, Guaranteed, The ShrineBride Hard, Love in the Villa, Harvard Man) has composed the movie’s original music. Also premiering on Wednesday is the Prime Video original animated series The Might Nein based on the Critical Role campaign of the same title and starring Laura Bailey, Taliesin Jaffe, Matthew Mercer, Ashley Johnson, Liam O’Brien, Sam Riegel, Marisha Ray and Travis Willingham. The show’s original music is composed by Neal Acree (The Legend of Vox Machina, World of Warcraft, Stargate SG-1WitchbladeStarCraft IIOverwatch, Diablo III). Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score in the coming weeks and has already released a first track this past Friday. Premiering in the U.S. on Thursday, November 20, is the British limited series The Assassin created by Harry & Jack Williams and starring Keeley Hawes, Freddie Highmore, Jack Davenport, Gina Gershon, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Devon Terrell, Alan Dale, Gerald Kyd, Richard Dormer and David Dencik. Dominik Scherrer (The MissingThe Tourist, Miss Austen, The WidowBaptiste, Ripper Street, PrimevalThe SerpentThe Confessions of Frannie Langton) has composed the show’s original music. Premiering on Friday, November 21, is the action comedy sequel The Family Plan 2 directed by Simon Cellan Jones and starring Mark Wahlberg, Michelle Monaghan, Zoe Colletti, Kit Harington, Reda Elazouar, Van Crosby, Peter Lindsey and Theodore Lindsey. The film’s original music is composed by Kevin Matley (Den of Thieves 2: Pantera, Arthur the King, Concrete CowboyPath of the Panther) who previously scored the original 2023 movie.
