Also opening wide is the comedy sequel Freakier Friday directed by Nisha Ganatra and starring Lindsay Lohan, Jamie Lee Curtis, Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto, Rosalind Chao, Vanessa Bayer, Chad Michael Murray and Mark Harmon. Amie Doherty (She-Hulk: Attorney at LawSpirit Untamed,  Happiest Season, Blue Eye Samurai, Undone, Please Don’t Destroy, The High Note) has composed the film’s original score. Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album featuring four tracks from the composer’s score, as well as songs by Lohan, Pink Slip, The Beaches and Chantry Johnson last Friday. Already playing in theaters nationwide since this past Wednesday is the fantasy adventure comedy Sketch written and directed by Seth Worley and starring Tony Hale, D’Arcy Carden, Kue Lawrence and Bianca Belle. The film’s original music is composed by the Grammy Award-nominated singer/songwriter Cody Fry who has made his feature scoring debut on the project. Fry has released a soundtrack album featuring his score today. Opening semi-wide in around 400 theaters this weekend is the drama My Mother’s Wedding co-written and directed by Kristin Scott Thomas and starring Scarlett Johansson, Sienna Miller, Scott Thomas herself, Emily Beecham and Freida Pinto. Rolfe Kent (Sideways, About SchmidtUp in the Air, Wedding CrashersElectionMean Girls, Thank You for Smoking, Freaky Friday, Downsizing) has composed the film’s original music. No word on a soundtrack release. Opening in select theaters today is the thriller What We Hide written and directed by Dan Kay and starring McKenna Grace, Jojo Regina, Dacre Montgomery, Malia Baker, Jesse Williams, Forrest Goodluck, Tamara Austin and Fernanda Andrade. The film’s original music is composed by Alexis Grapsas (A Quiet Place: Day One, Trigonometry, Monday, TeacherBig Shot). No soundtrack album has been announced. The movie, which follows two sisters whose mother dies from an overdose and decide to conceal her body in an attempt to prevent being separated through the foster care system, premiered at this year’s Santa Barbara Film Festival (under the title Spider & Jessie) and is being distributed by Gravitas Ventures.

Also opening in select theaters is the animated feature Hola Frida directed by André Kadi & Karine Vézina about the childhood of real-life artist Frida Kahlo. Laetitia Pansanel-Garric (The Monster of Many MonstersPamfir, Sophia Loren, une destinée particulière) has composed the film’s original music. 22D Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score this past February when the movie opened in France. Opening in the U.S. exclusively at New York’s Film Forum is the drama An Officer and a Spy (J’accuse) co-written and directed by Roman Polanski and starring Jean Dujardin, Louis Garrel, Emmanuelle Seigner and Grégory Gadebois. The film’s original music is composed by Alexandre Desplat (The Shape of WaterThe Grand Budapest Hotel, Jurassic World Rebirth, The King’s SpeechHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Godzilla, The Queen). Warner Classics has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score back in 2019 when the movie opened in France and other European markets.
