Quartet Records has announced the premiere CD release of the soundtrack album for the 1981 crime drama Prince of the City co-written and directed by Sidney Lumet and starring Treat Williams, Jerry Orbach, Lindsay Crouse, Richard Foronjy and Bob Balaban. The limited edition album features the film’s original music composed by Paul Chihara (Death Race 2000, China Beach, The Bad News Bears Go to China, Romance and Cigarettes). The soundtrack is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also listen to audio samples and check out the full album details. Varese Sarabande & TER Records have previously released a vinyl edition of the album in 1981 and a digital version is available from JAY Records. Prince of the City is now available on VOD, Blu-ray and DVD.
The label has also announced the premiere CD release of the soundtrack for the 1970 comedy The Twelve Chairs written and directed by Mel Brooks and starring Frank Langella, Ron Moody and Dom DeLuise. The album featuring the film’s original music composed by John Morris (Blazing Saddles, Spaceballs, Young Frankenstein, The Elephant Man, Dirty Dancing, Clue, The Producers, Life Stinks, The In-Laws) is limited to 500 copies and is also available to order on Quartet’s website, where you can also find out more about the release. Varese Sarabande & TER Records have previously a vinyl edition in 1983 and a digital version has recently been released earlier this year by JAY Records. The Twelve Chairs is currently available on DVD.
