Octopus Records has released a soundtrack album for the biographical drama Limonov: The Ballad. The album features the film’s original music composed by Massimo Pupillo. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and most other major digital music services. Also listen to the composer’s first track (Revolution) after the jump. Limonov: The Ballad is co-written and directed by Kirill Serebrennikov and stars Ben Whishaw, Viktoria Miroshnichenko, Tomas Arana, Masha Mashkova and Sandrine Bonnaire. The movie tells poet/politician Eduard Limonov’s life story, from his beginnings as a revolutionary militant an underground writer in Russia, to his time as a butler to a millionaire in Manhattan and his rise as a political agitator and novelist.The drama premiered at this year’s Venice Film Festival and is opening in Italian theaters this coming weekend. No domestic distribution deal has been announced yet.
