La-La Land Records has announced its 2012 Comic-Con titles. The four world premiere limited edition soundtrack CDs include Bryan Singer’s X-Men sequel X2 (X-Men United). The 2 CD-set features the expanded score from the film composed by John Ottman, including over 50 minutes of previously unreleased music. Also coming out is the expanded score for the 1996 film adaptation of The Phantom starring Billy Zane, Kristy Swanson, Treat Williams and Catherine Zeta-Jones. The album, which is limited to 3000 copies, features the film’s score composed and conducted by David Newman, including almost 30 minutes of never-before released music. The other two soundtrack albums to be presented at the convention are for the TV show Batman: The Animated Series, including a re-issue of the label’s 2008 sold-out title of music from the show and a new 4-CD set featuring previously unreleased music from the show written by composers Shirley Walker, Harvey R. Cohen, Carlos Rodriguez, Lolita Ritmanis, Michael McCuistion and Carl Swander Johnson. Also included is Danny Elfman’s iconic title theme. All titles will be available exclusively from July 12-15 (and on Preview Night on July 11) at Comic-Con from La-La Land Records (Booth 429 “Toy Hungry”). The CDs will be available to order on the label’s website on July 19, 2012.
