Verve Records and Interscope Records have released the original song It Never Went Away from the Netflix original documentary American Symphony. The track co-written and -produced (with Dan Wilson) and performed by Grammy Award- and Academy Award-winning musician/composer Jon Batiste (Soul, The First Wave, She Ball) and is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. American Symphony is directed by Matthew Heineman and explores a year in the life of Batiste as he attempts to compose a symphony while his wife, writer Suleika Jaouad, undergoes cancer treatment. The documentary, which premiered at this year’s Telluride Film Festival, is opening in select theaters today and will debut next Wednesday, November 29 on Netflix.
