Henry Jackman (Wreck-It-Ralph, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, X-Men: First Class, Kong: Skull Island, Big Hero 6) & Alex Belcher (The Contractor, Made in Italy) are returning as the composers of the new Netflix original film Extraction 2. The movie is directed by Sam Hargrave and stars Chris Hemsworth, Golshifteh Farahani, Tornike Gogrichiani, Daniel Bernhardt, Adam Bessa and Tinatin Dalakishvili. The action thriller sequel follows highly skilled commando Tyler Rake as he takes on another dangerous mission: saving the battered family of a ruthless Georgian gangster from the prison where they are being held. Joe Russo wrote the screenplay is also producing the AGBO production with Anthony Russo (Avengers: Infinity War & Endgame), Hemsworth, Hargrave, Mike Larocca (Everything Everywhere All at Once, From), Angela Russo-Otstot and Patrick Newall (Kate, How It Ends). Jackman & Belcher have previously scored the 2020 original movie and also co-scored the Russo Brothers-produced 2019 feature 21 Bridges, while Jackman has composed the music for most of Russo’s directorial features, including Captain America: The Winter Solider & Civil War, Cherry and The Gray Man. Extraction 2 will be released in select theaters on June 9, 2023 before premiering on June 16 on Netflix.
Belcher has also recently scored the first season of Amazon’s Citadel (with Jackman serving as score producer), which is now available to stream on Prime Video.
