Heitor Pereira (Despicable Me, Minions, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, Smallfoot, The Smurfs, Paw Patrol: The Movie) has recently scored the animated feature Animal Farm. The film is directed by Andy Serkis (Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle) and features the voices of Seth Rogen, Gaten Matarazzo, Laverne Cox, Kieran Culkin, Iman Vellani, Jim Parsons, Steve Buscemi, Woody Harrelson, Glenn Close, Kathleen Turner and Serkis himself. The movie based on George Orwell’s novella of the same title follows a group of farm animals who rebel against their neglectful human owners and take over the farm, only to face new challenges under the rule of a cunning pig. Nicholas Stoller (Neighbors, Forgetting Sarah Marshall) wrote the screenplay. Serkis is also producing the Aniventure and Imaginarium production with Adam Nagle & Peter Nagle (Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank, Hitpig), Dave Rosenbaum and Jonathan Cavendish (Bridget Jones’s Diary, Elizabeth: he Golden Age). Animal Farm just premiered today at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. No word yet on release date or distribution deal.
As previously reported, Pereira also has the John Rice’s The Angry Birds Movie 3 (to be released in theaters on January 29, 2027) coming up.
