Composer Sami Jano is reuniting with actress/director Bryce Dallas Howard on the upcoming Disney+ original documentary Pets. The film is directed by Howard and explores the relationship that exists between animals and their people, all around the world. The movie profiles a diverse cast of characters from every-day pet guardians to dedicated animal rescuers and beyond, highlighting the vital connections they share with their cats, dogs, pigs, goats and even birds of prey. Howard is also producing the Imagine Documentaries production with Sara Bernstein (Rebuilding Paradise, Julia), Justin Wilkes (Jim Henson: Idea Man, Lucy and Desi), Meredith Kaulfers (Music by John Williams, Light & Magic) and Elisabeth Jamison. Ron Howard & Brian Grazer (Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind) serve as executive producers. Jano has previously collaborated with Bryce Dallas Howard on her feature directorial debut, Dads, and also scored Imagine Documentaries’ feature We Feed People and series Harlem Ice. Pets will premiere on April 11 exclusively on Disney+.
Jano has also recently scored Imagine Documentaries’ six-part series David Blaine Do Not Attempt. The show, which follows world- renowned magician and endurance artist David Blaine exploring the world through the lens of magic, will premiere on March 23 on National Geographic and will also be available to stream the following day on Hulu.
