Hollywood Records will release a new soundtrack album for the FX original series Shōgun. The album features previously unreleased music from the show’s first season composed by Atticus Ross (The Social Network, Watchmen, Soul, Gone Girl), Leopold Ross (Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, The Book of Eli, Death Note) and Nick Chuba (Thelma, The Girl from Plainville, Dr. Death) who have recently received an Emmy Award nomination for their score. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, August 16 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. The label has previously released the original soundtrack back in February and Mutant has announced a vinyl edition. Shōgun is developed by Rachel Kondo & Justin Marks based on James Clavell’s classic novel and stars Cosmo Jarvis, Hiroyuki Sanada, Anna Sawai, Takehiro Hira, Hiroto Kanai, Tadanobu Asano, Shinnosuke Abe, Tokuma Nishioka, Moeka Hoshi, Yuka Kouri, Yuki Kura and Fumi Nikaido. The first season of the historical drama series, which recently received 25 Emmy Awards nominations, is now available to stream in the U.S. on Hulu and in most other markets on Disney+.
