Over the last two weeks, Kris Bowers (Bridgerton, Green Book, King Richard, Queen Charlotte, Space Jam: A New Legacy) has been recording his score for the upcoming supernatural family horror comedy Haunted Mansion. The film is directed by Justin Simien and stars LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Owen Wilson, Rosario Dawson, Danny DeVito, Dan Levy, Chase W. Dillon, Jamie Lee Curtis and Jared Leto. The movie inspired by the classic theme park attraction follows a woman and her son who enlist a motley crew of so-called spiritual experts to help rid their home of supernatural squatters. Dan Lin (It, The LEGO Movie) and Jonathan Eirich (Aladdin, The Two Popes) are producing the project. Bowers has recorded his music on the Clint Eastwood Stage at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank. The composer has previously scored Simien’s last feature Bad Hair and also collaborated with the filmmaker on Netflix’s Dear White People TV series. Haunted Mansion is scheduled to be released in theaters nationwide on July 28, 2023 by Walt Disney Pictures.

Bowers’ other upcoming projects include Blitz Bazawule’s The Color Purple, Marvel Studios’ Disney+ series Secret Invasion and the third season of Netflix’s Bridgerton.
