The details of the soundtrack album for Illumination Entertainment’s animated feature The Super Mario Bros. Movie have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Brian Tyler (Fast & Furious, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Crazy Rich Asians, Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Yellowstone) with original Nintendo themes written by Koji Kondo. Also included is the song Peaches co-written and performed by Jack Black (as Bowser) and Ali Dee’s version of the Mario Brothers Rap. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, April 7 by Back Lot Music and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. iam8bit will release a CD, vinyl and cassette edition later this year (visit Amazon to pre-order the CD and vinyl versions). The Super Mario Bros. Movie is directed by Aaron Horvath & Michael Jelenic and features the voices of Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, Black, Seth Rogen, Keegan-Michael Key, Kevin Michael Richardson, Fred Armisen and Sebastian Maniscalco. The animated movie follows Brooklyn plumbers Mario & Luigi who are transported down a mysterious pipe while working underground to fix a water main and wander into a magical new world, where they get separated. The film is being released in theaters nationwide today by Universal Pictures.

    I saw the movie yesterday and MAN.
    I’ve never been a Tyler but his score was an epic, orchestral, funny, dramatic and magical homage to Koji Kondo’s original work.
    Also the final battle with Bowser, best cue of the year so far

  5. It’s about time they release the soundtrack. I am so happy about this. I hope they releasing on streaming platforms soon I am a huge Nintendo Mario fan and I love the music very much and it’s pretty amazing. Thanks to Koji Kondo I’m so glad he was able to team up with elimination for putting the music of Mario in the movie
