Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the action thriller John Wick: Chapter 4 directed by Chad Stahelski and starring Keanu Reeves, Donnie Yen, Rina Sawayama, Bill Skarsgård, Shamier Anderson, Lance Reddick, Laurence Fishburne and Ian McShane. The film’s original score is composed by Tyler Bates (Guardians of the Galaxy, 300, Deadpool 2, Watchmen) & Joel J. Richard (Quantico, Books of Blood). Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score, as well as two original songs by Sawayama and In This Moment & more. Opening semi-wide in around 750 theaters is the British comedy drama The Lost King directed by Stephen Frears and starring Sally Hawkins, Steve Coogan, Mark Addy and Harry Lloyd. Alexandre Desplat (The Shape of Water, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, The Queen, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Queen) has composed the film’s original music. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last fall when the movie opened in the UK. Opening in select theaters today before expanding nationwide next Friday is the drama A Good Person written and directed by Zach Braff and starring Florence Pugh, Morgan Freeman, Molly Shannon, Chinaza Uche and Zoe Lister-Jones. The film’s original score is composed by Bryce Dessner (The Two Popes, Cyrano, Bardo). Mercury Classics has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today (click here for the full album details). The label has also released (officially scheduled to come out on April 14, but already available now in several digital music stores) a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the movie, including two original songs written and performed by Pugh (click here for more information).
Opening in select theaters today is the mystery thriller The Tutor directed by Jordan Ross and starring Garrett Hedlund, Noah Schnapp, Victoria Justice and Jonny Weston. Alexander Bornstein (Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, First to the Moon, Paradox) has composed the film’s original music. Also opening in select U.S. theaters today is the French fantasy drama The Five Devils (Les cinq diables) co-written and directed by Léa Mysius and starring Adèle Exarchopoulos, Sally Drame, Moustapha Mbengue, Swala Emati, Patrick Bouchitey and Daphné Patakia. The film’s original music is composed by Florencia di Concilio (Calamity, a Childhood of Martha Jane Cannary, Dark Blood, Ava, Just Kids). 22D Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last summer when the movie opened in France. Opening in select theaters today before premiering next Friday, March 31 on Apple TV+ is the biographical drama Tetris directed by Jon S. Baird and starring Taron Egerton, Nikita Efremov, Ben Miles, Sofia Lebedeva, Anthony Boyle, Ken Yamamura and Rick Yune. Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Black Widow, Top Gun: Maverick, His Dark Materials) has composed the film’s original score. Warner Music UK will release a soundtrack album featuring four tracks from Balfe’s score, as well as songs by Aaron Hibell, aespa, ReN, Pet Shop Boys & others next Friday. Opening in two theaters today before premiering next Friday, March 31 on Netflix is the comedy Murder Mystery 2 directed by Jeremy Garelick and starring Adam Sandler, Jennifer Aniston, Mark Strong, Jodie Turner-Smith, Adeel Akhtar, Mélanie Laurent and Dany Boon. The film’s original score is composed by Rupert Gregson-Williams (Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Hacksaw Ridge, Smallfoot, The Legend of Tarzan, The Crown) who previously scored the 2019 original movie.
