Composer Martin Todsharow is reteaming with director Robert Schwentke (Flightplan, The Time Traveler’s Wife) on the upcoming German comedy Seneca – On the Creation of Earthquakes. The film starring John Malkovich, Tom Xander, Louis Hofmann, Geraldine Chaplin, Alexander Fehling, Andrew Koji, Lilith Stangenberg, Mary-Louise Parker & Julian Sands is set in Rome in 65 AD and centers on the relationship between Emperor Nero and his mentor, Philosopher Seneca who accused him of plotting his assassination. Schwentke also co-wrote the screenplay with Matthew Wilder (Dog Eat Dog). Frieder Schlaich and Irene von Alberti are producing the project for Filmgalerie 451. Todsharow has previously collaborated with Schwentke on most of his movies, including TattooThe Family JewelsThe Captain and last year’s Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins. Seneca – On the Creation of Earthquakes will premiere in January at the 2023 Berlin Film Festival before opening in German theaters in March.
