Steven Price (GravityOur Planet, Suicide Squad, Last Night in Soho, Over the Moon, Fury, The Aeronauts) has composed the original score for the upcoming biographical drama The Swimmers. The film is directed by Sally El Hosaini (My Brother the Devil) and stars Manal & Nathalie Issa, Ali Suliman, Matthias Schweighöfer, Elmi Rashid Elmi, Ahmed Malek, Kinda Alloush and James Krishna Floyd. The movie tells the story of the journey made by swimming sisters Yusra and Sarah Mardini who fled as refugees from war-torn Syria all the way to the 2016 Rio Olympics. El Hosaini also co-wrote the screenplay with Jack Thorne (Wonder, Enola Holmes). Eric Fellner & Tim Bevan (Atonement, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy), Ali Jaafar (King of Thieves) and Tim Cole (Wild Bild) are producing the Working Title production. Stephen Daldry (The Hours, The Reader) serves as an executive producer. Price has previously scored Working Title’s features Baby Driver and Last Night in Soho. The Swimmers is expected to premiere this year on Netflix.

Price’s other recent projects include Michael Grandage’s My Policeman, which will be released in select theaters on October 21 before premiering on Amazon Prime on November 4, as well as Josh Gordon’s & Will Speck’s Distant, which is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on January 27, 2023 by Universal Pictures.
