Quartet Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1972 movie adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island directed by John Hough and starring Orson Welles (who also wrote the original version of the screenplay), Kim Burfield, Lionel Stander, Walter Slezak and Ángel del Pozo. The album features the film’s original music composed by Natale Massara (Craving Desire). The soundtrack is being released to coincide with the movie’s 50th Anniversary is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out the full track list, check out audio samples and to order the CD, which is limited to 500 copies. Treasure Island is now available on DVD.
The label has also announced the CD premiere soundtrack release for the 1978 British thriller The Thirty-Nine Steps directed by Don Sharp and starring Robert Powell, David Warner and Eric Porter. The album features the film’s original music composed by Ed Welch (Rosie Dixon – Night Nurse, The Boys in Blue).
