Nainita Desai (For Sama, The Deepest Breath, The Reason I Jump, The Tower, Crossfire, , Funny Woman, Tales of Kenzera: ZAU) is the composer of the upcoming National Geographic documentary series Secrets of the Penguins. The show is narrated by Blake Lively and takes viewers to the farthest corners of the world to witness penguin behaviors captured on film for the first time – showcasing the cute and fluffy flightless birds as they brave some of the most extreme environments on Earth. Bertie Gregory serves as lead storyteller, cinematographer and producer of the 3-parter and collaborated with world leading scientists, using cutting-edge camera technology. James Cameron (Titanic, Avatar) and Maria Wilhelm (Secrets of the Whales/Octopus/Elephant) are executive producing the project for Lightstorm Earth, alongside Ruth Roberts and Martin Williams for Talesmith, as well as Pam Caragol for National Geographic. Desai has previously scored Lightstorm Earth’s OceanXplorers. Secrets of the Penguins will premiere on April 20 on National Geographic and will also be available to stream the following day on Disney+ and Hulu.
