Nathan Halpern (The Rider, Swallow, Minding the Gap, One Percent More Humid, In the Same Breath, Rich Hill) has recently scored the upcoming psychological thriller Watcher. The film is directed by Chloe Okuno and stars Maika Monroe, Karl Glusman and Ciubuciu Bogdan Alexandru. The movie follows a young woman who moves into a new apartment in Bucharest with her husband and starts being tormented by the feeling that she is being stalked by an unseen watcher in an adjacent building. Zack Ford (Scar) wrote the screenplay. Roy Lee (It, The Lego Movie), Steven Schneider (Blair Witch, Insidious), Derek Dauchy (The Ambush), John Finemore (Crawlspace, ARQ), Aaron Kaplan & Mason Novick (Juno, 500 Days of Summer) and Sean Perrone are producing the project. Watcher will premiere in January at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival.
Halpern’s other recent projects include Josef Kubota Wladyka’s Catch the Fair One, which premiered at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival and has been picked up by IFC Films for a release in select theaters and on VOD on February 11, 2022.
