Premiering today is the Showtime limited series Dexter: New Blood developed by Clyde Phillips based on the Dexter novels created by Jeff Lindsay and starring Michael C. Hall, Jennifer Carpenter, Jack Alcott, Julia Jones. Johnny Sequoyah, Alano Miller and Clancy Brown. The show’s original score is composed by Pat Irwin (The Good Cop, Feed the Beast, But I’m a Cheerleader, Nurse Jackie, Bored to Death). The crime drama also features additional music by late composer Daniel Licht who scored the original Dexter series. Premiering on Thursday, November 11 is Paramount+’s reboot of The CW’s & BET’s The Game created by Mara Brock Akil and starring Wendy Raquel Robinson, Hosea Chanchez, Adriyan Rae, Vaughn Hebron, Analisa Velez and Toby Sandeman. Kurt Farquhar (Black Lightning, The King of Queens, Sister, Sister, Moesha, Being Mary Jane) who scored the original series is composing the show’s original music. The drama, which features a mix of new players and original cast and follows the pro-football team as they tackle racism, sexism, classism and more as they fight for fame, fortune, respect and love, will be available to stream exclusively on Paramount+.
Premiering on Friday, November 12 is the family comedy Home Sweet Home Alone directed by Dan Mazer and starring Ellie Kemper, Rob Delaney, Archie Yates, Aisling Bea, Kenan Thompson, Tim Simons, Pete Holmes, Devin Ratray, Ally Maki and Chris Parnell. The film’s original music is composed by John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, Iron Man 2, The Jungle Book, Elf, Hocus Pocus) and features the themes by John Williams written for the 1990 Home Alone movie. Hollywood Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score this coming week. Also premiering on Friday is the Apple TV+ original series The Shrink Next Door based on Joe Noceras’ podcast of the same name and starring Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Kathryn Hahn and Casey Wilson. Joshua Moshier (Baskets, Happy Anniversary, Looney Tunes Shorts, Special, Dragons: Rescue Riders) is composing the show’s original music. Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score this Friday.
