Premiering on Tuesday, August 31 is the Hulu original series Only Murders in the Building created by Steve Martin & John Hoffman and starring Martin, Selena Gomez, Martin Short Aaron Dominguez and Amy Ryan. The show’s original music is composed by Siddhartha Khosla (This Is Us, Looking for Alasksa, Queenpins, Runaways, The Royals). Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score this past Friday. Premiering on Wednesday, September 1 is Pixar Animation Studios’ Disney+ shorts series Dug Days written and directed by Bob Peterson and produced by Kim Collins. Andrea Datzman (Alcatraz, Undercovers) & Curtis Green have composed the original score for all five shorts. Also premiering on Wednesday is the Netflix docu-series Turning Point: 9/11 and the War on Terror directed by and executive by Brian Knappenberger. The show’s original music is composed by John Dragonetti (The Internet’s Own Boy: The Story of Aaron Swartz, All About Nina, We Are Legion: The Story of the Hacktivists, Freeloaders). The 5-parter, which documents the 9/11 terrorist attacks, from Al Qaeda’s roots in the 1980s to America’s forceful response, both at home and abroad, will be available to stream on Netflix.
Premiering on Thursday, September 2, is the Netflix original film Afterlife of the Party directed by Stephen Herek and starring Victoria Justice, Midori Francis, Robyn Scott, Adam Garcia, Timothy Renouf, Gloria Garcia, Myfanwy Waring and Spencer Sutherland. Jessica Rose Weiss (Cinderella, Friendsgiving, Dog Gone Trouble) has composed the movie’s original score. The romantic comedy, which follows a social butterfly who lives to party until she dies in a freak accident and needs to right her wrongs on Earth if she wants to earn her wings, will be available to stream on Netflix.
Also premiering on Thursday is the Netflix animated series Q-Force created by Gabe Liedman and starring Sean Hayes, Wanda Sykes, Laurie Metcalf, David Harbour, Gary Cole, Patti Harrison and Matt Rogers. The show’s original music is composed by Lior Rosner (AJ and the Queen, Geography Club, Wedding Doll) & Scott Icenogle (Will & Grace, Lazy Susan). The animated comedy, which revolves around a gay superspy and his scrappy LGBTQ squad as they fight to prove themselves to the agency that underestimated them, will be available to stream on Netflix.
Premiering on Friday, September 3, is the Paramount+ original movie The J Team directed by Michael Lembeck and starring JoJo Siwa, Tisha Campbell-Martin, Laura Soltis, J Kerrynton Jones, Julia Marley and Kiara T. Romero. Gabriel Mann (Modern Family, A Million Little Things, Rectify, High School Musical: The Musical – The Series) has composed the film’s original score. Viacom International has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the movie written by Siwa, Jeannie Lurie, Matthew Tishler and Andrew Underberg.
