Netflix announced today that Ben Frost is set to score the upcoming Netflix original series 1899. The show is created by Jantje Friese & Baran bo Odar and stars Emily Beecham, Aneurin Barnard, Andreas Pietschmann, Miguel Bernardeau, Lucas Lynggaard Tønnesen, Maciej Musial, Rosalie Craig,Maria Erwolter, Clara Rosager, Yann Gael, Mathilde Ollivier, Isabella Wei, , José Pimentão, Gabby Wong,  Fflyn Edwards, Jonas Bloquet, Alexandre Willaume and Anton Lesser. The 8-parter follows the mysterious circumstances around the voyage of a group of multinational immigrants traveling from the old continent to the new as they encounter a nightmarish riddle aboard a second ship adrift on the open sea. Friese & bo Odar (Who Am I, Sleepless) are also executive producing the project for DARK WAYS. Frost (Sleeping Beauty, Raised by Wolves, Fortitude, Super Dark Times, The Deep) has previously collaborated with the creators/producers on the German Netflix series Dark. 1899 just started production and is expected to premiere in 2022 on Netflix.
