Singer/songwriter Starrah (aka Brittany Hazzard) is writing original songs for the upcoming animated musical Century Goddess. The film tells the story of a young woman who is revealed to be a once-in-a-century goddess who unleashes her generational power of song and spoken word to ignite a revolution in a dictatorship where artists are suppressed. The movie marks the first project of Spire Animation Studios, co-founded by animation producer Brad Lewis (Ratatouille, How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World) and P.J. Gunsagar. Also involved are stage director Diane Paulus (Pippin, Waitress) and screenwriter/producer Bisha K. Ali (Ms. Marvel). Starrah is best known for co-writing numerous popular songs by artists including Rihanna, The Weeknd, Halsey and Nicki Minaj. Century Goddess is currently in development. (THR)
