Opening in select U.S. theaters is the Train to Busan sequel Peninsula directed by Yeon Sang Ho and starring Gang Dong-won and Lee Jung-hyun. Mowg (I See the Devil, Burning, The Last Stand, Warriors of the Dawn) has composed the film’s original music. The action horror thriller, which follows a soldier who previously escaped the diseased wasteland and relives the horror when assigned to a covert operation with two simple objectives: retrieve and survive, is being released stateside by Well Go USA Entertainment.
Also opening in theaters (only) is the heist thriller Cut Throat City directed by RZA and starring Shameik Moore, Demetrius Shipp Jr., Denzel Whitaker, Ethan Hawke, Eiza Gonzalez, Keean Johnson, Kat Graham, T.I., Terrence Howard, Isaiah Washington and Wesley Snipes. The film’s original score is composed by Dhani Harrison & Paul Hicks (Learning to Drive, Outsiders, The Case Against Adnan Syed, The Divide). 36 Chambers has released a soundtrack EP featuring songs by RZA, Ghostface Killah & others. Already out on VOD and (DVD) since this past Tuesday is the historical drama Emperor directed by Mark Amin and starring Dayo Okeniyi, Naturi Naughton, Mykelti Williamson, Kat Graham, James Cromwell, Bruce Dern. The film’s original score is composed by Javier Navarrete (Pan’s Labyrinth, Wrath of the Titans, Greta, Byzantium, Mirrors). No word yet on a score release. EMI Records has released the original song I’ll Get There (The Other Side) written by Diane Warren and performed by Emeli Sandé earlier this month.
