Trent Reznor has confirmed in a recent interview with Revolver that he is teaming up with Atticus Ross to score the upcoming Netflix original movie Mank. The film is directed by David Fincher and stars Gary Oldman, Amanda Seyfried, Lily Collins, Charles Dance, Tuppence Middleton, Arliss Howard, Ferdinand Kingsley, Jamie McShane, Joseph Cross, Sam Troughton, Toby Leonard Moore, Tom Burke, and Tom Pelphrey. The movie is based on a script by Fincher’s late father, Jack, and tells the story screenwriter Herman Mankiewicz’s tumultuous development of the script for Orson Welles’ Citizen Kane. Fincher is also producing the project with Cean Chaffin (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Mindhunter) and Douglas Urbanski (Darkest Hour). Reznor & Ross have previously composed the music for Fincher’s last three features, The Social Network, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Gone Girl. Mank will premiere in 2020 on Netflix.
Reznor & Ross who recently finished work on the first season of HBO’s Watchmen also have Pixar Animation Studios’ Soul coming up.
