Sony Classical will release the official soundtrack album for Terrence Malick’s drama A Hidden Life. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee James Newton Howard (The Hunger Games, The Sixth Sense, Signs, King Kong, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Maleficent). Also included are classical pieces by Handel, Dvorak and Gorecki as featured in the movie. The soundtrack is expected to be released on December 6 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A Hidden Life is written and directed by Malick and stars August Diehl, Valerie Pachner, Maria Simon, Tobias Moretti, Bruno Ganz, Matthias Schoenaerts, Karin Neuhäuser and Ulrich Matthes. The movie tells the story of Austrian peasant farmer Franz Jägerstätter who refused to fight for the Nazis in World War II and is faced with the threat of execution for treason. The drama premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and will be released in select theaters on December 13 by Fox Searchlight.
