Harry Escott is composing the score for Fox Networks Group Europe & Africa’s first original series Deep State. The show is created by Matthew Parkhill (Rogue) & Simon Maxwell (Killing Bono) and stars Mark Strong as a retired Secret Service operative and member of elite British/America team called The Section who is coaxed back into the field to try to shut down an Iranian missile program. Karima McAdams, Joe Dempsie, Lyne Renée, Alistair Petrie, Anastasia Griffith, Amelia Bullmore, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Pip Torrens and Fares Fares are co-starring. Hilary Bevan Jones (Pirate Radio) is executive producing the project with Alan Greenspan (Fever Pitch, Best Laid Plans), Helen Flint (Close to the Enemy), Jeff Ford and Sara Johnson (Hex). Deep State is expected to premiere overseas later this year.
Escott whose previous scoring credits include Shame, Hard Candy, Welcome to the Punch and A Mighty Heart also has recently scored the British drama Journeyman, which premiered at last year’s London Film Festival and is set to be released in the UK this spring. as well as the Ruth Wilson- & Sean Bean-starring thriller Dark River, which premiered at last year’s Toronto Film Festival and will be released in British theaters next month.
