Alex Heffes has recently composed the music for the upcoming drama Pickpockets (Carteristas). The movie marks director Peter Webber’s first Spanish-language feature and stars Carlos Bardem, Emiliano Pernia, Marcela Mar, Natalia Reyes and Duban Prado. The movie is set in the capital of Bogota and revolves around 16-year old street urchin who, together with two pals, learns the art of pickpocketing from a master in the sleight of hand. Gael Nouaille (Return to Ithaca) is producing the project for Full House. Heffes has previously collaborated with Webber (The Girl with the Pearl Earring, Hannibal Rising) on 2012’s Emperor, 2015’s Ten Billions and this year’s Earth: One Amazing Day. No release date has been announced yet for Pickpockets.
Heffes (The Last King of Scotland, Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, 11.22.63, Roots) also has the wildlife documentary The Elephant Queen directed by Victoria Stone & Mark Deeble coming up.
