Will Bates and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith have composed the original music for the upcoming documentary CounterPunch. The film is directed by Jay Bulger (Beware of Mr. Baker) and tells the true stories of a number of three young boxers at different stages of their career make sacrifices to pursue their dreams of becoming champions. Bulger is also producing the project. Mandalay Sports Entertainment is executive producing the movie. CounterPunch will have its world premiere on June 15 at the Los Angeles Film Festival and will be available to stream on June 16, 2017 on Netflix.
Bates (I Origins, Another Earth, Imperium) also continues to score Hulu’s The Path & Chance, as well as Syfy’s The Magicians.
