girls-tripDavid Newman has recently recorded his score for the upcoming comedy Girls Trip. The film is directed by Malcolm D. Lee (The Best ManThe Best Man HolidayUndercover Brother) and stars Regina Hall, Jada Pinkett Smith, Tiffany Haddish, Larenz Tate, Kate Walsh, Mike Colter and Queen Latifah. The movie follows four lifelong friends as they travel to New Orleans for the annual Essence Festival. Kenya Barris & Tracy Oliver (Barbershop: The Next Cut) wrote the screenplay. Will Packer (Ride AlongThink Like a ManThe Wedding Ringer) is producing the project with Lee. Newman has previously collaborated with the director on the 2008 feature Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins.
