Mark Isham has composed the music for the upcoming the drama Megan Leavey. The film is directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite (Blackfish) and stars Kate Mara, Ramon Rodriguez, Edie Falco, Common, Tom Felton, Damson Idris, Bradley Whitford and Will Patton. The movie tells the true story of Leavey, a young Marine who turned her life around by enlisting in the K9 unit, where she was teamed with an aggressive combat dog named Rex. Pamela Gray (Music of the Heart, Conviction) has written the screenplay. Mickey Liddell (The Grey, Jackie, Everwood), Jennifer Monroe (Disconnect) and Pete Shilaimon (Anthropoid, Risen) are producing the project for LD Entertainment. Megan Leavey is currently in post-production is expected to premiere in 2017.
Isham’s recent projects also include the thriller The Accountant starring Ben Affleck, which will be released nationwide this weekend. The composer’s upcoming projects also include Scott Hicks’ fantasy romance Fallen and the animated feature Duck Duck Goose. He also scored the drama The Headhunter’s Calling starring Gerard Butler, which recently premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and is currently awaiting a domestic release date. Isham also continues to score ABC’s Once Upon a Time and American Crime.
