terminalRupert Gregson-Williams is set to compose the music for the upcoming thriller Terminal. The film is written and directed by Vaughn Stein and stars Margot Robbie, Simon Pegg, Max Irons, Mike Myers and Dexter Fletcher. The movie follows two hit men who embark on a borderline suicide mission for a mysterious employer and a high paycheck and come across a dynamic woman who may be more involved in the crime than they had originally suspected. David Barron (Harry Potter series, CinderellaJack Ryan: Shadow Recruit) is producing the project with Robbie, Molly Hassell (EdmondThe Trust), Arianne Fraser, Tom Ackerley, Josey McNamara and Sophia Kerr. Gregson-Williams has previously scored the Barron-produced The Legend of Tarzan starring Alexander Skarsgard & Robbie. Terminal is currently in post-production and is expected to premiere in 2017.

Gregson-Williams has also recently scored the World War II action drama Hacksaw Ridge. The film is directed by Mel Gibson (BraveheartThe Passion of the Christ) and stars Andrew Garfield, Sam Worthington, Luke Bracey, Teresa Palmer, Hugo Weaving, Rachel Griffiths and Vince Vaughn. The movie tells the true story of Desmond Doss who, in Okinawa during the bloodiest battle of WWII, saved 75 men without firing or carrying a gun. Bill Mechanic (Coraline), David Permut (Face/Off) and Brian Oliver (Black Swan) are producing the project. As reported last year, John Debney was originally scoring the film. Hacksaw Ridge recently premiered at the Venice Film Festival and will be released nationwide on November 4, 2016 by Lionsgate. Visit the official movie website for updates.

The composer’s other upcoming projects also include the Netflix original series The Crown, which is also set to premiere on November 4, 2016.

Holy cow, this guy is on a role as it seemingly came out of nowhere. Other than a few animated films and Adam Sandler pics, 2016 has really been his year for more grown-up fare (Tarzan, Hacksaw, The Crown and now this).

      Must have a new agent.

Yeah, probably an expert on picking up movies with rejected scores or composers, first Tarzan and now Hacksaw.

BTW, does anyone know what happened with Debney on Hacksaw Ridge for his score being replaced?

        • TZ says:

During summer, there was news about RGW being hired to cooperate wth debney. And now Debney got kicked out, it is RGW’s solo work now.
