Shane Carruth is composing the music for the new Starz original series The Girlfriend Experience. The show is created by Amy Seimetz & Lodge Kerrigan (Keane) inspired by Steven Soderbergh’s 2009 feature and stars Riley Keough, Paul Sparks, Mary Lynn Rajskub, James Gilbert and Kate Lyn Sheil. The drama follows a law student and intern at a prestigious firm who enters the world of transactional relationships. Seimetz & Kerrigan are also executive producing the project with Soderbergh (Traffic, Ocean’s Eleven, Erin Brockovich), Philip Fleishman, Gary Marcus (CQ, The Grand). Carruth is best known as the writer/director of the features Primer and Upstream Color (the latter of which starred Seimetz), which he also scored.
