Peter Nashel and Eric V. Hachikian are composing the score for the upcoming Netflix original series Marco Polo. The show is created by John Fusco (Forbidden Kingdom, Hidalgo) and stars Lorenzo Richelmy, Zhu Zhu, Joan Chen, Benedict Wong, Remy Hii, Olivia Cheng, Claudia Kim, Uli Latukefu, Chin Han and Tom Wu. The drama is based on the famed explorer’s adventures in Kublai Khan’s court in 13th century China. Fusco is also executive producing the project with Harvey Weinstein and Dan Minahan (Game of Thrones, True Blood). Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg (Kon-Tiki, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) directed the first two episodes and also serve as executive producers. Nashel’s previous scoring credits include such features as Bee Season, The Night Listener and Carriers and TV shows including Rubicon, Lie to Me, Life on Mars and Dirty Sexy Money. The first 10-episode season of Marco Polo is set to premiere on December 12, 2014 on Netflix.
