Music Box Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1997 drama Good Will Hunting directed by Gus Van Sant and starring Matt Damon, Robin Williams, Ben Affleck and Minnie Driver. The album features the complete score from the film composed by Danny Elfman (Spider-Man, Batman) who would later reunite with the director on such films as Milk, Psycho, Restless and Promised Land. The composer’s music was previously only commercially released with two tracks on the original soundtrack album. Also featured on the new album are six tracks of indie songwriter Elliott Smith who was Oscar-nominated for the song Miss Misery in the Best Original Song category. Elfman also received an Academy Award nomination for his score and the film won the award for Williams’ supporting actor performance and Damon’s and Affleck’s screenplay.
