Mychael Danna has composed the score for the upcoming epic mini-series World Without End. The series based on Ken Follett’s best-selling novel is directed by Michael Caton-Jones and stars Cynthia Nixon, Ben Chaplin, Peter Firth, Charlotte Riley, Rupert Evans, Nora von Waldstaetten, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Tom Weston-Jones, Megan Follows and Sarah Gadon. The eight-hour thriller is the follow up to the 2010 mini-series The Pillars of the Earth (scored by Trevor Morris) and is set over 150 years after the Pillars events during the start of the Hundred Years’ War and the outbreak of the Black Death. The Tandem Communications, Scott Free Films, Take 5 Productions, Mid Atlantic Films and Galafilm production is executive produced by Ridley & Tony Scott (Unstoppable), Rola Bauer (The Pillars of the Earth), David W. Zucker (The Good Wife), Tim Halkin, Jonas Bauer (The Company) and John Weber (The Borgias). John Pielmeier (The Pillars of the Earth, Agnes of God) has adapted the material for the small screen. Mychael Danna has previously co-scored Take 5 Productions’ Camelotwith his brother Jeff. Caton-Jones’ previous musical collaborators include Carter Burwell (Rob Roy, The Jackal), George Fenton (Memphis Belle), Dario Marianelli (Beyond the Gates) and John Murphy (City bthe Sea, Basic Instinct 2). World Without End is set to premiere in numerous international markets including the UK, Germany, Spain and Canada over the next couple of months. As previously reported, Danna’s other upcoming project is Ang Lee’s highly anticipated 3D adventure film Life of Pi. The film starring Suraj Sharma, Shravanthi Sainath, Tabu & Gerard Depardieu and produced by Lee, Gil Netter and David Womark is set to be released on November 21, 2012 by 20th Century Fox.
