Gabriel Yared has recently scored the French comedy Haute Cuisine (Les saveurs du Palais). The film is directed by Christian Vincent and stars Catherine Frot and French novelist Jean D’Ormesson. The movie is based on the true story of Danièle Delpeuch who was the private cook to late French President, François Mitterrand and follows a renowned chef who is appointed by the president as his personal cook. Vincent has co-written the project’s script with Etienne Comar (Of Gods and Men). Comar is also producing the film for Armada Films Production with Philippe Rousselet (Source Code, Lord of War) for Vendome. Haute Cuisine is set for a release in France on September 19, 2012. The Weinstein Company has recently picked up domestic rights for the film, but no release date has been announced yet.
As previously reported, Yared also has the thriller Therese Raquin starring Elizabeth Olsen, Jessica Lange and Tom Felton coming up. Currently set for a domestic release on November 9, 2012 is the historical drama A Royal Affair, which Yared co-scored with Cyril Aufort. Still awaiting a release date is the drama Belle du Seigneur starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers.
