Angelo Badalamenti is scoring the upcoming indie drama A Late Quartet. The movie is directed by Yaron Zilberman and stars Philip Seymour Hoffman, Catherine Keener, Mark Ivanir and Christopher Walken as a world-renowned string quartet struggling to stay together as they mark their 25th anniversary. Imogen Poots and Wallace Shawn are co-starring. Zilberman co-wrote the script with Seth Grossman based on his original story. Vanessa Coifman (The Informers, Fireflies in the Garden), David Faigenblum (The Big White), Emanuel Michael (Boy) and Mandy Tagger are producing the project. A Late Quartet is currently in post-production. No release date has been announced yet for the Concept Entertainment, Spring Productions, Opening Night Productions and RKO Pictures film. The composer who is best known for his collaborations with director David Lynch is also scoring the Russian war epic Stalingrad directed by Fyodor Bondarchuk and starring Pyotr Fedorov and Thomas Kretschmann. The movie recounts the Battle of Stalingrad, a turning point in the Second World War in which Soviet troops fought and eventually won control over the South Russian city of Stalingrad, occupied by Nazi troops in February 1943. It has recently been announced that the Non-Stop Production and Art Pictures Studio film will be released in 3D and IMAX and a release date has been set for October 2013 in Russia.
