Only one movie opens wide this weekend:
The Warrior’s Way starring Dong-gun Jang, Danny Huston, Geoffrey Rush and Kate Bosworth features a score by Javier Navarrete. In the movie, a warrior-assassin is forced to hide in a small town in the American Badlands after refusing a mission. No soundtrack release has been announced so far. To find out more about the movie, check out the official movie webpage.
Opening in limited release is Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan starring Natalie Portman. Check out our previous posting announcing the soundtrack album release.
Also opening in limited release is the indie comedy I Love You Phillip Morris starring Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor. The score was composed by Nick Urata. A soundtrack including both score and songs from the movie was released earlier this year by Europa Corp. To download the soundtrack and listen to audio clips, visit iTunes.
Finally, the indie drama All Good Things is opening today in limited release. The movie is directed by Andrew Jarecki (Capturing the Friedmans) and stars Ryan Gosling, Kirsten Dunst and Frank Langella. The score for the movie is written by Rob Simonsen and marks the composer’s biggest solo feature score so far after collaborating on numerous scores (500 Days of Summer, Dollhouse) with composer Mychael Danna. No soundtrack release has been announced, but after watching the movie, we were definitely impressed by the score and hope a score release will be coming at some point in the future.
