Shogun Music has released a digital version of the soundtrack album for the 1984 British miniseries The Jewel in the Crown created by Christopher Morahan, Jim O’Brien, Ken Taylor & Irene Shubik and starring Art Malik, Geraldine James, Saeed Jaffrey, Charles Dance, Tim Pigott-Smith and Peggy Ashcroft. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award winner George Fenton (Dangerous LiaisonsAnna and the King, The Blue Planet, Groundhog DayHitch, Ever After, Gandhi). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to the composer’s main title track below. Chrysalis has previously released the original soundtrack album on vinyl in 1985, while EMI Records has released a CD version a couple of years later. The Jewel in the Crown is now available to stream on PBS Masterpiece and to purchase on DVD.
