Nicola Piovani (Life Is Beautiful, The Tiger and the Snow, The Best YearsPinocchioHungry Hearts, The Traitor) is attached to score the upcoming Italian drama Canto Delle Meduse. The film is directed by Paolo Taviani (Caesar Must Die, The Lark Farm) and is set to star Polish-Italian actress Kasia Smutniak. The movie interweaves four different stories tied to the 2020 pandemic and depicts several days during lockdown in Rome. Donatella Palermo (Fire at Sea, Notturno) is producing the project for Stemal Entertainment. RAI Cinema is also producing. Piovani has previously collaborated with Taviani on numerous features, including The Night of the Shooting Stars, Good Morning Babylon, Fiore and Leonora addio. Canto Delle Meduse will start shooting in April. A release in 2025 is expected. (Variety)
