Music Box Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1979 drama Tess directed by Roman Polanski and starring Nastassja Kinski, Peter Firth, Leigh Lawson, Rosemary Martin, John Collin,  Richard Pearson and Carolyn Pickles. The album features the film’s Academy Award-nominated expanded and remastered original score composed by Philippe Sarde (The Tenant, Quest for FireLord of the Flies, Pirates, Barocco, Ghost StoryNelly & Monsieur Arnaud) and performed by the London Symphony Orchestra, including previously unreleased music. The CD, which is limited to 1,000 copies, is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out the full album details and listen to audio samples. Tess is now available on VOD and Blu-ray and DVD (as part of the Criterion Collection).

The label’s other new releases include a remastered reissue of Ennio Morricone’s score for The Burglars (Le Casse), a 2-CD set featuring the scores from Alexandre Arcady’s Le Grand Pardon (composed by Serge Franklin) and Le Grand Pardon II (composed by Romano Musumarra), as well as the ninth volume of the label’s Great Television Soundtracks Collection featuring Claude Bolling’s music from the mini-series Le Clan and Renseignements généraux.
